Located in historic downtown Ocala, ‘The Brick’ is a perfect venue for your next event.
Brick City Center for the Arts is a versatile venue for rentals located in the heart of historic downtown Ocala. This unique space includes an art gallery and beautifully landscaped courtyard, both which can be easily transformed to accommodate a variety of performances, professional, or personal occasions.
In addition to the gallery, the adjacent courtyard makes for a spectacular setting. Lush and beautifully maintained landscaping, complemented by new awnings and lighting create a welcoming space embedded in the heart of historic downtown. The courtyard is included with indoor rentals, or may be rented separately.
Your rental experience will be expertly guided by our Gallery Director, Xochi Smith. Catering, beer, and wine are permitted. Rentals are available day and evening, seven days a week, based on availability.
What is the capacity of ‘The Brick’?
‘The Brick’ can accomodate 80 people inside and 40 on the courtyard. We can seat 75 theater style, and for a seated lunch or dinner between 50-60 at round tables, depending on your setup.
How many chairs/tables do you offer?
We have 70 white chairs, 5 60” round tables, 4 8’ banquet tables and 2 6’ tables. We have a screen available for use.
What is the fee for renting the space?
The fee is $95 per hour, with a three hour minimum. A reasonable amount of time on either side of the event is allowed.
Do you do all setup and teardown of items you provide?
We will set up and tear down any items we provide, however if you rent items, those will need to be set up and taken down by you or your rental company – so that we bear no liability for damage.
When can I begin set up for my event?
This will be determined in the pre planning session with the Gallery Director. An event staff person will be onsite with you.
What exactly does this fee include?
You rental includes a limited onsite prep area, tables, chairs, bar, courtyard and the ambience of art gallery, which rotates every 30 days.
How many hours does the rental rate include?
The flat fee covers three hours. Should your event exceed the minimum of three hours, there’s an additional charge of $95 per hour.

How much is the deposit?
A 50% deposit is due no later than 30 days before your event or the date will be released.
What forms of payment do you take?
We accept credit or debit cards, check, and cash.
Do you have list of preferred vendors?
You may use whichever vendor you wish.
How many parking spots are available for guests?
There is ample street parking in the blocks surrounding our space, as well as free garage parking two blocks east of us. Parking is dependent on the time of day and other events in the area.
May we serve alcohol?
You may serve liquor if your organization or caterer provides a valid liquor license. You must follow city ordinances and regulations. Wine and beer may be served on premises. Renters are to provide a certificate of insurance naming Marion Cultural Alliance and the City of Ocala as an added insured.
What is your cancellation policy?
Deposit is fully refundable if cancelled two (2) weeks prior to event. MCA will keep the deposit if the event is cancelled less than two (2) weeks ahead of time. Should an unpredictable circumstances (i.e. hurricane, etc.) cancel the event, MCA will reschedule, based on availability, at no extra charge.
Are there any restrictions on use of the space?
The Brick City Center for the Arts is a fully functioning art gallery with exhibits.
You may not affix anything to the walls.
MCA is not available for rent during the First Friday of September-May. However, based on availability, the courtyard may be rented.
