First Friday Art Walk is back on Friday, December 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. Art Walk is a FREE event and takes place the (See more) first Friday of each month from September through May. Located within Ocala’s historic downtown, event festivities include over 30 artist displays, live entertainment, free family art activities and extended shopping hours.

DECEMBER includes these special performances and activities on the downtown square;
• 6 - 9 p.m.: Live music on the gazebo stage by Jeff Jarrett!
• 7 and 8 p.m.: Special winter-themed performances by BellyArtist Studio
• 6 - 9 p.m. 98.5 KTK, Appleton Museum of Art, Painting with a Twist, Marion County Public Library System - FL, Karate America Ocala - ATA, ART ARMY Ocala, the #OcalaChippers and the Discovery Center will provide free, hands-on art activities for ALL ages on the square.

Participating Organizations include: FFAW Info Booth, 98.5KTK, Appleton Museum of Art, Ambassadors of Nature, Art Army of Ocala, Brick City Bikes, Dance Alive National Ballet, the Discovery Center, Karate America of Ocala, Marion County Public Library, Ocala Calligraphy Guild, the Ocala Chippers, Ocala Civic Theatre, Painting with a Twist, the Reilly Arts Center and Wear Gloves Inc.

Also in correlation with the December Art Walk, Ocala Recreation and Parks will be showing the movie Edward Scissorhands at Citizen's Circle from 7 to 9 pm. This is FREE, family event so round up the kids, spread out your blankets and enjoy a fun-filled winter movie under the stars!

Additional activities and events will be happening simultaneously all throughout downtown at some of our participating businesses. #shoplocal#eatlocal #buylocal

Artists will be working throughout the event creating works of art, live portrait art on-site, live caricatures, flow artists and local musicians will be playing within the Art Walk!

An opening reception for ‘The Art of Carlynne Hershberger,’ will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at City Hall, 110 (See more) SE Watula Ave. This reception is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided. This art exhibit will be on display Thursday, Oct. 25 through Friday, Jan. 18, 2019 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at City Hall.
