MCA’s Applaud the Arts is a celebration of our community’s arts community with performances, the award of Cultural Grants, and the award of the MCA Arts Awards. The event will be held at the Reilly Arts Center, Thursday, September 28, 2017.

MCA is accepting nominations for the following categories:

EDUCATION AWARD

Recognizes an arts educator, school or district leader who utilizes the arts as a tool for achieving excellence in a K-12 setting.

VISION AWARD

Recognizes an elected or public official(s) in Ocala/Marion County for their outstanding advocacy of the arts.

SERVICE AWARD

Recognizes an exceptional individual for their dedicated volunteerism in the arts and contribution to the arts community as a whole.

Thursday, September 28, 2017
Reilly Arts Center 5:30-7:30 pm

Eligibility

Awards are open to all area arts organizations, city, county, school district, arts organization volunteers, and arts enthusiasts in Ocala/Marion County.

Nominations for these awards will all be evaluated based on each nominee’s level of excellence in:

  • Advocacy for the arts
  • Promotion of the arts
  • Support of the arts
  • Full application form and required materials can be found at mcaocala.com/awards

 

The top three finalists in each category will receive:

  • Recognition in event publicity including print and social media
  • Pre-event media release
  • Featured in the event program
  • Podium recognition
  • Two complimentary tickets to Applaud the Arts

 

The MCA Arts Awards winner in each category will receive all the above plus:

  • A specially designed award
  • Post-event media release announcing the final honorees
  • Recognition on social media

 

Nomination/Application Instructions

Self-nominations are accepted and encouraged. Entries must be submitted online at mcaocala.com/awards. Please be prepared to upload supporting materials or images.

 

Selection Process

The Awesome for the Arts Selection committee, chaired by MCA Board member, Devon Chestnut, APR, CPRC will review all applications based on the criteria stated above and completion of the application materials. Three finalists will be chosen in each category and will be reviewed and approved by the MCA Board of Directors. The three finalists in each category will receive publicity before and during the event. One honoree in each category will be announced live at Applaud the Arts on Thursday, September 28, 2017.
