Town and Country, 2006
A collection of works by the Plein Air Heads
The Chamber Gallery Series, a partnership of Marion Cultural Alliance, Inc. and The Ocala Marion County Chamber of Commerce, present Town & Country. This is a collection of works by the Plein Air Heads, a group of five landscape painters who enjoy painting together around the North Central Florida area.
The works are on display in the lobby of the Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce on Ocala’s historic downtown Square, 110 East Silver Springs Boulevard.
This exhibit reflects a common love for and dedication to capturing the beauty and timelessness of the rural scene and specifically the horse farms of Rabbit Hill and Town & Country. The freshness and vitality which are inherent in the painting experience, enable these artists to capture the significance of a moment in time and transfer that spirit to the viewer.
The Plein Air Heads are Linda Blondheim, Patricia Zeile, Susan Johnson, Betty B. Blitch, and Dahvi Fradkin.
The show continues through June 1. The Chamber Building, is open Monday Through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
There will be an artists’ reception for the show May 12 at 5 p.m. at the Chamber. Following the reception, there will be a second reception for artists featured in the show “Blooming at the Brick.” At 6 p.m at Brick City Center for the Arts, across the square at 23 SW Broadway St. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. there will be live music on the downtown Ocala square and artists are welcomed to come paint the local scene.
Commissions from sales of works for this show support the gallery series and the mission of MCA.
