Today we will focus on creating beautiful and balanced color in our portraits.  I will show you how to create lines and edges with subtle shifts of color.  We will push color to its full chroma and then learn to tone it down to harmonious skin color.   There are various ways to create beautiful color vibrations that can make portraits come alive.

Marion Cultural Alliance and Kathrine Jakob present a unique blend of art, storytelling and stage plays with A Time of Imagination: Lost In… at the Brick City Center for the arts.

After reading through all submissions to the “Lost in a good…” short story competition, held in connection to the show, several local writers were chosen to have their original work performed including: Basil O. Bristow, Chris Olney, Annawilda Tomyn, Heather Miller, Tom Chown and Laurie Blassingham. Their original short stories, centered on the theme of lost were handpicked to be performed by the members of the Insomniac Theatre Company for the show.

The doors open at 7:30 pm on the 23rd and 2:30 pm on the 24th to allow patrons to be shown throughout the Marion Cultural Alliance gallery and guided to several special pieces of our local artist’s finest work based upon the theme of “Lost”. At show time the audience will be treated to dramatic readings of the “Lost in a good story” Short Story Competition winning pieces as well as two plays by local playwright Chad Taylor.
